The cape is the region in Europe with most sun. This unique climate has produced a unique landscape, fauna and flora which you realize with every step.

Starting in San José you can walk to the famous Playa de Genoveses and the Playa de Mónsul, location for "Indiana Jones". On the other side of the cape there is an enormous sandy beach that goes from San Miguel almost up to the cape. On your way you will see flamingos. Already in Roman times salt was extracted from this area.

In the interior, there is the only true desert in Europe (desierto de Tabernas), and the Sierra Nevada, the highest mountain range in Spain where you can go skiing in winter and spring. Granada is a daytrip.
